Unsupervised marks the third FX series for Kaitlin Olson. Last fall, Olson returned to the network for the seventh season of the critically-acclaimed cult hit It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The press has picked up on her Sunny performance as "Sweet Dee," declaring her "the next queen of comedy." On the FX drama The Riches, she played the three-armed neighbor "Hartley Underwood." Up next in television for Olson is the female lead in the Comedy Central animated series Brickleberry. She plays "Ethel," the super-hot, hippie park ranger opposite Daniel Tosh.
Olson recently starred in the Weinstein Company's animated feature Escape From Planet Earth opposite Sarah Jessica Parker, Rob Corddry and James Gandolfini. Olson also co-starred in the romantic comedy Leap Year as "Libby," best friend to Amy Adams' character "Anna." In addition, Olson starred in the independent film Weather Girl, winner of the Best Film Award at the 2009 Vail Film Festival. Olson played a morning show co-host opposite Mark Harmon. The ensemble cast also included Jane Lynch, Jon Cryer and Blair Underwood.
Olson has been praised for crafting unique and memorable television characters, including Larry's sister-in-law "Becky" on Curb Your Enthusiasm and Mimi's nemesis "Traylor" on The Drew Carey Show.
Also known for her improv talent, Olson began her career with a highly-coveted spot in The Groundlings Sunday Company, a training ground for such comics as Will Ferrell and Phil Hartman. The showcase led to her casting in several improv series, including Punk'd, The Jamie Kennedy Experiment and Meet the Marks. She was also a series regular on FOX's Kelsey Grammer Presents: The Sketch Show.
Olson was born and raised in Tigard, Oregon, and graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Theatre Arts. She lives in Los Angeles with husband Rob McElhenney, their son Axel and their dog Oscar.
